The Work of the Essex Little Tern Recovery Project – 30th Jan. 2019

Happy New Year!
The next Wildlife Talk at St Lawrence Church will be on Wednesday 30th January 2019. It will be given by Paul Davis who will speak about the work of the Essex little tern recovery project. The little tern is our smallest and rarest breeding sea bird.

DSC_0841We are lucky enough to have a small population of nesting little tern visit our coast each summer to breed. However, due to habitat loss and disturbance breeding numbers remain very low. Paul has been working with the RSPB and other partners to improve breeding conditions for this delightful summer visitor and raise awareness of it’s plight.
